PURPOSE: To provide a device for turning pages of book original capable of turning pages before an electric field formed on a dielectric belt is attenuated. ;CONSTITUTION: The page-turning means of a scanning unit 200 is composed of a page-turning belt 208, a page-turning roller 224, an electrifying roller 225 and a high-voltage power source 116 and when length on a belt surface from the abutting position of the electrifying roller 225 on the page-turning belt 208 to its abutting position of on the book original surface is defined as L1 and a unit moving distance until the formation of the electric field onto a belt is started by the electrifying roller 225 and then, the abutting position of the page-turning belt 208 on the book original surface reaches the book original surface edge part, in a page-turning action by the scanning unit 200 is defined as L2, the relation of L1≤L2 is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
