PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cloth for black formalwear, having heat-insulating properties and destaticizing properties, exhibiting excellent color-developing properties, scarcely giving a stuffy feeling, and having tension and stiffness. PSOLUTION: This cloth for the black formalwear is woven or knitted from sheath-core conjugated yarn which is composed of sheath yarn comprising a polyester-based fiber with a irregular surface of random concavity and convexity and core yarn comprising a cupra fiber, by using the conjugated yarn solely or together with a fiber comprising another polyester-based polymer, wherein the cloth contains the cupra fiber in an amount of 20%.
