PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate which exhibits a high degree of crystallization, is homogeneous in quality with a small dispersion of degree of crystallization, and hence does not fuse in solid-phase polymerization; and a production method therefor.;SOLUTION: This aromatic polycarbonate, having a temperature-rise crystallization temperature (Hc) in DSC of 140-180°C and a crystallization enthalpy (ΔHc) higher than 0 but lower than 40 J/g, is obtained by crystallizing an amorphous aromatic polycarbonate at its Tg or higher but not higher than 240°C under a shear with a shear rate of 0 rpm or higher but lower than 60 rpm, or by applying a pressure with a compression line pressure of 100 kg/cm-10 t/cm to a crystalline aromatic polycarbonate to make it partially amorphous.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
