PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for molecular genetic detection and determination which can be carried out with a non-RI method and applied to the whole microorganisms and a specific microorganism in the environment, and to provide a method for analyzing and evaluating a polluted environment and an environmental sample by using that method. ;SOLUTION: A method for detecting and measuring a nucleic acid of a specific functional microorganism in an environmental sample with a non-RI method, and analyzing the priority of the specific functional microorganism in the environment. The method comprises (1) a process in which a target nucleic acid is extracted from a microorganism-containing specimen taken out from the environment, and purifying and storing the targeting nucleic acid, (2) a process in which a sequence specific to the specific functional microorganism is selected, and a non-IR labeled nucleic acid probe specific to the specific functional microorganism is prepared, (3) a process in which the nucleic acid obtained in the process (1) is fixed on a base board, the probe prepared in the process (2) is applied on the treated base board, and thereby hybridization is performed, followed by washing, (4) a process in which the signal attributable to the hybridized non-IR labeled nucleic acid probe is analyzed after visualization, and the quantitative value is obtained, and (5) a process in which the obtained quantitative value is compared with the quantitative values determined on whole organisms and on each domain of the living world, and the priority of the specific functional microorganism is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
