PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write-once type optical recording medium capable of storing recorded information over a long term in a satisfactory state and an optically recording method using the write-once/read-many type optical recording medium.;SOLUTION: This write-once/read-many type optical recording medium 1 has a substrate 40, a protective layer 30 and a recording layer 10 disposed between the substrate 40 and the protective layer 30. A record mark 13 including an eutectic alloy is formed on the recording layer 10 by laser beams made incident from the side of the substrate 40 when recording is performed.
