PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and quick gene diagnosis for bovine cartilage metaplastic dwarfism.;SOLUTION: The gene diagnosis is carried out utilizing the principle based on the finding that the disease is caused by the mutation of LIMBIN gene. That is, this diagnosis comprises extracting a genomic DNA from a bovine as an examination subject, amplifying a domain containing a base as the cause of the disease, and detecting the presence or absence of the mutation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
