CD-ROM, CD-ROM playback method and playback apparatus

PURPOSE:To provide a reproduction method and a reproduction device of a CD-ROM which has a high overall performance and no time loss. CONSTITUTION:In a CD-ROM 4, data compressed picture data and data compressed sound data are alternately recorded for every prescribed sector number. The data compressed picture data are reproduced from the CD-ROM 4, written in a memory 13 and the picture data written in the memory 13 are supplied to a first decoder 44 which performs a decoding. The data compressed sound data from the CD-ROM 4 are reproduced, written in the memory 13 and the sound data written in the memory 13 are supplied to a second decoder 21, which performs a decoding, while the first decoder 44 decodes the picture data.
