PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient and simple method for evaluating spots and freckles when quantitating and evaluating the spots and freckles by using an apparatus. SOLUTION: The spots and freckles which are most conspicuous among skin regions are specified by visual sensation, or the like, and the specified spots and freckles are subjected to quantitating of color information by using the apparatus, such as spectrocalorimeter by which the color information data is obtained. The conspicuous degrees of the liver spots and freckles over the entire part of the skin regions are decided in accordance with the color information. The quantitated color information data is based on the mean value in the measured region of the essential component score relating to the melanin obtained by performing an essential component analysis by using the spectral reflectivity data of a plurality of wavelengths.
