EVALUATION METHOD FOR LIGHT SENSATION BY ELECTRIC STIMULATION USING LABORATORY ANIMAL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method capable of determining whether or not a prescribed electric stimulation is a condition for perceiving light in an experiment using an animal. PSOLUTION: This evaluation method is characterized in comprising a behavior learning step having laboratory animals learn prescribed behavior by the conditional stimulation using an operant behavior experiment using the light sensation as a conditional stimulation, an electrode placement step placing an electrode for applying an electric stimulation to the optic nerve system in the laboratory animal after the behavior learning step, and a light sensation evaluation step evaluating whether or not the electric stimulation pulse is the condition causing the light sensation necessary for letting the laboratory animal perform the prescribed behavior by using electric stimulation pulse generation means connected to the electrode placed in the electrode placement step and generating a prescribed electric stimulation pulse from the electrode.
