PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alternately machine a work in an upward direction and a downward direction.;SOLUTION: A raising and falling method by a punch press for machining up and down parts by a punch and a die provided on a punch press comprises (A) a step of positioning the position to machine a down part of the work to the position corresponding to a downward punch provided on a punch die 11 and a bend die provided on a die, (B) a step of machining the down part by the downward punch provided on the punch die 11 and a holding die provided on the die, (C) a step of positioning the position to machine an up part of the work to the position corresponding to the holding die provided on the punch die and an upward punch provided on the die, and (D) a step of machining the up part by the holding die provided on the punch die and the upward punch provided on the die.
