PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic fiber treatment agent for producing carbon fiber and to provide a method for treatment of a synthetic fiber for production of the carbon fiber which achieve simultaneous and sufficient prevention of mutual fusing of flameproofed fibers in a flameproofing step and of occurrence of contaminants in a calcinating oven in a carbonization step in the production of the carbon fiber.;SOLUTION: As the synthetic fiber treatment agent for producing the carbon fiber, are used at least one or two or more selected from the following nitrogen compounds: a specific nitrogen-containing compound obtained by esterification reaction between a polyglycidyl amine and a fatty acid, a specific nitrogen- containing compound obtained by allowing all of the glycidyl groups in a triglycidyl isocyanurate to esterify with a fatty acid and a specific nitrogen- containing compound obtained by allowing an aromatic polyglycidyl compound to react with an aliphatic amine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
