PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for coin piling elimination which rapidly detect and eliminate coin piling. SOLUTION: An entrance sensor 13 is provided at the entrance part of bellows 11 as a passage for coins thrown in an automatic vending machine and an exit sensor 13 is provided at the exit part. When the number of coins detected by the entrance sensor 13 does not agree with the number of coins detected by the exit sensor 14, a driving device 15 which swings the bellows 11 is driven to swing the bellows 11, thereby eliminating a coin piling in the bellows 11.
