PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely enlarge the slidable distance of a sliding rod compared with the conventional one, and to enable a root ball having various kinds of sizes to be supported and planted by one tool for carrying the root ball in a method for supporting and planting a tree comprising planting the tree to be artificially planted in a park, a pavement, an exhibition ground or the like while supporting the tree, and in the tool for carrying the root ball usable for carrying the root ball in the method for supporting and planting the tree. SOLUTION: This method for supporting and planting the tree comprises putting the root ball 13 on the tool 1 for carrying the root ball, comprising plural pipe rods 2 having opened parts 4 and 4 at both end parts, and slidable rods 3 inserted into the pipe rods 2 so as to be freely slidable, and constituted so that the slidable rods 3 may have sizes capable of passing through the pipes 2, fixing the root ball 13 thereto, and planting the tree.
