GAS BLOW PREVENTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shut off the blow and leakage of a large amount of gas from a damaged part 14 of a polyethylene pipe 12 used for transporting a gas with simple work in a short time.;SOLUTION: An expandable synthetic resin 16 is injected from a nozzle 19 of a feeder 15 to a comparatively large part 14 damaged by an excavator 13 such as a excavator with hoe equipment, of the polyethylene pipe 12. The expandable synthetic resin is expanded in the pipe 12 to block up the pipe 12 and to close the damaged part 14. When the damaged part 14 is located at a position buried by soil 11, an insertion hole for inserting the expandable synthetic resin can be easily formed in a short time by pressing a rod-shaped piercing tool 27 such as a soldering iron heated by more than a melting point of the pipe, to a position exposed from the soil, of the pipe, whereby the workability can be improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
