PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically recover valuable metals contained in burned ashes, which are discharged from a waste incinerator. PSOLUTION: This method for economically recovering the valuable metals comprises, when incinerating wastes 100 with the waste incinerator 10 having a fire grate 4, separating a fallen ash 102 falling from spaces of the above fire grate 4, from the main ash 101 discharged from the end portion of the fire grate 4, collecting the fallen ash with a fallen-ash collecting device 6 having a hopper 61, and smelting the separately collected fallen ash 102.
