PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cadmium analyzing method and analyzer for a zinc electrolyte capable of continuously and accurately analyzing concentration of cadmium which is a trace component and conveniently automating the analy sis. SOLUTION: In the cadmium analyzing method for the zinc electrolyte, the concentration of cadmium contained in the zinc electrolyte is determined by flow injection analysis. A passage 10 is formed continuously delivering carrier liquid containing hydrochloric acid used as eluant to columns 32 and 33 filled with cation exchange resin. A zinc electrolyte sample is injected in an upstream side of the columns 32 and 33 and metal ions other than cadmium ions in the zinc electrolyte sample are removed by the cation exchange resin. The cadmium concentration is detected by a cadmium ion selective electrode 51 inserted in eluate continuously eluted from the columns.
