SYNTHETIC ATTRACTANT FOR CATCHING AND KILLING WASP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an attractant for wasps, the effects of which are stable even if time goes by, and which has no environmental problem resulting from generation of stink when used for catching and killing them and is easy to transport to a place for use.;SOLUTION: This attractant is synthetically manufactured, and the main ingredient of which is an ethyl ester of a fatty acid adjusted on the basis of composition analysis of conventional fermented honeys or juices, and the composition closely resembles that of commercially available fermented juices. When the attractant preferably mixed with a gel material such as agar is located on a certain area, a scent component from the synthetic attractant attracts wasps. Thus catching and killing can be controlled without a risk to disturb ecosystem.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
