TEAR SPRAY AND TEAR SOLUTION FOR CRIME PREVENTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tear solution and a tear spray for crime prevention, which reduce risk of fire by raising flash point of an ethanol solution, and would not cause severe coughing due to aspiration of strong irritant gas to people near an attacker unlike a tearing agent mainly composed of extract of chili peppers.;SOLUTION: Ethanol solution obtained by dissolving a tearing irritant substance, namely L-menthol in ethanol is diluted with water till alcohol concentration becomes less than 60 v/v%, for raising the flash point, so as to make a tear solution into a non-firehazardous material. 0.5 to 15 wt.% of the ethanol solution is blended. A spray container 1 is filled with the tear solution, an injection style for injecting the solution in a bar form or a coarse particle form via a nozzle 4 is adopted to increase an injection distance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
