PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instant messenger(IM) driving server and an online game supporting method, with which the opponent of an online game can be easily retrieved to play with by sharing the member DB of each of inline game traders.;SOLUTION: In an IM driving server 40 for performing support to enable the mutual transfer chat of messages with a party in response to the request of a logging-in user when an IM driving program is packaged in a user computer 10 and this program is run, the IM driving server 40 contains at least one online game content, the logging-in user searches for the opponent to play with in the online game, online game play is proposed to the opponent corresponding to search conditions, and when a play approval signal is transferred from the party, the online game is automatically started.
