PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator for an air bag allowing realizing of the miniaturization of the gas generator and simple and sure adjustment of the capacity of a combustion chamber for storing gas generation agent and retainer therefor.;SOLUTION: This retainer is provided with a cylindrical part for changing the flow of gas jetted from a through hole of an inner cylinder member provided within a housing and seavenging combustion products of fluid and semi-fluid contained in the gas.
