PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a human UDP galactose-4-epimerase polypeptide, a DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptide, and to provide a procedure for producing such polypeptide by recombinant techniques. ;SOLUTION: Disclosed are isolated polypeptides represented by the following: (a) a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide represented by SEQ ID NO.2 (refer to the specification); (b) a polynucleotide capable of hybridizing to the polynucleotide of (a) and having at least 70% polynucleotide identity; and (c) an isolated polynucleotide containing a member selected from a group consisting of a fragment, which has at least 50 base pair length, of the polynucleotide of (a) or (b).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
