PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressed volume-reduced discard of radioactive waste and a compressive volume reduction treatment method capable of executing surely sufficient volume reduction by heightening the packing degree, and a metal can for compressive volume reduction of the radioactive waste suitable for being used therefor.;SOLUTION: This metal can 1 for compressive volume reduction containing the radioactive waste 8 is compressed in the vacuum state with a contact pressure of 25-60 MN/m², and volume reduction treatment is executed to acquire a compressed volume-reduced discard 11 having the packing degree of the content in the metal can 1 for compressive volume reduction of 85 vol.% or more.
