PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide volume reduction processing equipment capable of reducing a residue amount by accelerating more thermal decomposition of radioactive wastes at a carbonization part.SOLUTION: A volume reduction processing container 10 comprises a first container 12, a second container 14, and piping 16. The first container 12 has: a carbonization part 20 where radioactive wastes are thermally decomposed; external overheating means 28 of heating the carbonization part 20 from outside; an exhaust port 17 provided at one end of the carbonization part 20 and discharges an exhaust gas produced at the carbonization part 20; radioactive wastes supply means 30 of supplying radioactive wastes to one end of the carbonization part 20; and overheated steam supply means 32 of supplying overheated steam to the other end of the carbonization part 20. At the carbonization part 20, the radioactive wastes are conveyed from one end to the other end of the carbonization part 20. The second container 14 has an inflow port 18 and a filter part 44 which filters an exhaust gas flowing in from the inflow port 18. One end of the piping 16 is connected to the exhaust port 17 provided at one end of the carbonization part 20, and the other end of the piping 16 is connected to the inflow port 18 of the second container 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
