PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine the existence of a fault in a battery, in an apparatus which is equipped with a battery for performing charge and discharge and supplying power to the main body side. SOLUTION: This is a computer device which performs power supply to the system body from a connected intelligent battery 52 for performing charge and discharge, and this intelligent battery 52 is equipped with a voltage measuring circuit 70 which measures the battery voltage, a current measuring circuit 63 which measures the charge and discharge currents, a temperature measuring circuit 90 which measures the temperature, and a CPU 62 which grasps the full charge capacity of the intelligent battery 52, based on the battery voltage obtained by the voltage measuring circuit 70, the charge and discharge currents obtained by the current measuring circuit 63, and the temperature obtained by the temperature measuring circuit 90. The CPU 62 compares the forecast lowest capacity having determined the level of the capacity to be guaranteed with the full charge capacity, and informs the embedded controller 41 of the system main body of the comparison results.
