PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a microorganism in a papermaking process capable of simply and surely decreasing generation of a defect of paper products by simply and surely specifying a generation site of the microorganism causing the defect of the paper products.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for controlling the microorganism in the papermaking process comprising performing sterilization and preservative treatment to a generation site of a specified slime by extracting a DNA derived from the microorganism from the attaching material to the product in the papermaking process, analyzing a microbial phase or a dominant microorganism of the attached material by indicating the base sequence of the obtained DNA as an index and specifying the generation site of the slime causing the attached material by comparing the microbial phase or the dominant microorganism to a microbial phase or a dominant microorganism of the slime generated in the papermaking process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
