PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data setting device that can easily set various data of an electric wire measuring instrument and, in addition, can obtain measured results with accuracy. ;SOLUTION: The electric wire measuring instrument 1 is provided with an input device 70 which inputs various parameters, a display device 80 which displays the parameters and calculated and measured results, and a resistance measuring means 10 which measures the resistance value of electric wires. The EEPROM 91 of the instrument 1 is provided with a specific resistance value storing means which sets and stores the specific resistance value corresponding to the material of an electric wire to be measured and a sample electric wire storing means which sets and stores the material and actually measured length of a sample electric wire which is equivalent to the electric wire to be measured. In addition, the PROM 92 of the instrument 1 is provided with a corrected cross-sectional area calculating means (program) which sets and stores a corrected cross-sectional area by calculating the area by dividing the product obtained by multiplying the actually measured length of the sample electric wire by the specific resistance value by the resistance value of the sample electric wire.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
