PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing sensitivity of a smoke sensor capable of using no real smoke, suppressing generation of noise of a circuit, and surely conducting a sensitivity test of the smoke sensor. ;SOLUTION: When an operation test command or a non operation test command is transmitted to the smoke sensor to be tested from a fire receiver 6, a microcomputer 4 transmits an operation test signal SG1 or a non operation test signal SG2 on the basis of the operation test command or the non operation test command to a light emission current control circuit 12 of a drive control circuit 12 and a gain changeover circuit 90 of an amplification part 9 through a sensitivity adjustment control circuit 13 of a light projecting and receiving circuit 3. The light emission current control circuit 121 of the drive control circuit 12 increases a light emission amount of a light emitting element 1, and the gain changeover circuit A changes over to a value corresponding to an operation test or a non operation test and increases a gain of the operation amplifier for amplifying a light receiving signal.
