METHOD OF PREVENTING MISCONCEPTION BY DISCONNECTION OF SIGNAL CABLE OF WIRE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for a landslide, an avalanche of sand and stone, and the like, connecting a wire sensor and a monitor with wiring improved in reliability. SOLUTION: The monitoring system is provided with the wire sensor 1, a four-core or three-core cable 20 prepared for each wire sensor to accommodate at least two signal lines respectively connected to the terminals of both poles of each wire sensor, and the monitor 30 for determining the operating state of the wire sensor from the open/closed state of a sensor circuit formed by two signal lines connected to each wire sensor. The cable comprises a pair of signal lines forming a closed circuit on the wire sensor side, as a disconnection detecting circuit. As for the wire sensor having the disconnection detecting circuit, the monitor determines the operating state of the wire sensor, considering the open/closed state of the disconnection detecting circuit. Misconception caused by the disconnection can thereby be prevented.
