The position of the branch or bark removal blades is controlled using an arrangement comprising two parts (3a, 3c) which can be moved in an opening and closing manner around the tree trunk. The second part (3c) is heavy enough for it to close under its own weight and follow the closing movement of the first part (3a), so that when this first part opens under its own weight, it will cause the second part to open.
