USE OF MELANIN FOR THE PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF ANY TYPE OF HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA, HYPERLIPIDEMIA AND ANY OTHER LIPID DISORDER IN HUMANS AND ANIMALS

he product melanin is extracted from the leaves of tea under specific conditions, is purified, condensed and purified even further and freeze-dried for the use in the prevention or treatment of anytype of hypercholestolemia, hyperlipidemia and any other lipid disorder, atherosclerosis of atheromatosis in humans and animals. Administration of this product parenterally or orally to hypercholesterolemic animals induced a significant reduction of the levels of total cholesterol, total triglykerides and of LDL-cholesterol in comparison with the control group. Melanin did not show any signs of toxicity or side effects on the experiment animals.
