pThe invention relates to the development of a novel artificial sea water medium comprising conventional salts as NaCl and MgSO4 with the addition of KCl in the proportion defined in the specification to generate biomass of higher carotenogenesis in particular betacarotene and its isomers using iDunaliella salina (ARL 5)/i.
