A tracking means is provided for guiding the floor machining device (11) with respect to a fixed guide such as a groove in the floor. The guide system includes a means for connecting the floor machining device to the guide. Independent claims are also included for (a) a guide device for a machine used to mill grooves between parquet or other wooden floor sections, comprising an essentially elongated block with protrusions or cavities on one side for connecting it to the machine, whilst the underside of the block has a cavity extending the length of the block for cooperating with a bracket having a screw at one end, the tip of the screw pointing downwards, and (b) a combination of the guide device and a floor machining device.
