Disclosed is polyethylene glycol polypeptide derivative selected from the neurotrophic factors BDNF and neurotrophin-3 (NT-3), wherein this polypeptide is attached to the polyethylene glycol. The process of attachment of polyethylene glycol containing one reactive aldehyde group to the polypeptide selected from the neurotrophic factors BDNF and NT-3, wherein the polypeptide reacts with polyethylene glycol under the conditions of reduction alkylation and under the value pH, which is acidic enough to provide to alpha-aminogroup at the N-end of the polypeptide the reactivity to attach polyethylene glycol to this alpha-aminogroup. The homogeneous preparation BDNF or NT-3, which are monopegylated on the alpha-aminogroup at the N-end for using for treatment of defect motoneurons and to improve the migration of BDNF or NT-3 through the cerebral fibre.
