PROCESS FOR THE GASIFICATION OF CARBONACEOUS MATERIALS SUCH AS SOLID WASTES OR SULFUR-CONTAINING COALS

According to a method for gasifying solid materials (waste materials, biomass(wood), coal containing sulphur) in a fluidized bed (5), water vapour andoxygen are blown into the fluidized bed as gasifying agents. Small energylosses are achieved by strongly superheating the water vapour with hotreaction gases, the superheater functioning with a low differential pressureload. The reaction gases that leave the fluidized bed (5) are post-gasified inthe open area (9) above the fluidized bed (5) in the reactor (1), with asupply of additional oxygen. A molar ratio of water vapour supplied and carboncontained in the material to be gasified of at least 2.1 is established.
