SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING CLINICAL DECISION MAKING THROUGH THE MODELING OF ACQUIRED PATIENT MEDICAL INFORMATION

The present invention is directed therefore to a system for supportingclinical decision-making based on acquired patient data. The system preferablyincludes a data repository for storing accumulated medical informationassociated with a plurality of medical conditions and at least a portion ofthe acquired patient data; a data analyzer programmed to identify a pattern inthe acquired patient data; and a user interface for transmitting the patternto a user. This may be achieved using a computer program incorporating a dataserver programmed to receive the acquired patient data and accumulated medicalinformation; a data analyzer programmed to identify a pattern in the acquiredpatient data based upon at least a portion of the acquired patient data andthe accumulated medical information; and a user server programmed to transmitthe identified pattern to a user. In operation, the present invention receivesthe accumulated medical information and acquired patient data; analyzes atleast a portion of the acquired patient data and accumulated medicalinformation to predict a pattern therein by generating a mathematical model;and transmits the identified pattern to a user.
