Another aspect of the invention comprises passing a fluid through a shunt located in a heart wall between a heart chamber and coronary artery by injecting a fluid into the heart chamber. Another aspect of the invention relates to a catheter having a flexible inner member which is attached a self-expanding basket. Another aspect of the invention involves inserting a wire in a coronary artery through a shunt located in a heart wall between a heart chamber and a coronary vessel. Another aspect of the invention relates to a flexible catheter having a mechanism for selectively deforming a distal end of said catheter.
