The invention relates to a process for optimised management of the memory allocation of an on-board system to a data structure and an onboard system corresponding. The packets of object code and the data packets are discriminated, and the memory is subdivided into blocks of the individual addressable memory, is allotted (a1) to the packets of object code, a set of blocks of memory elements located in a first range of the memory (ms1) at addresses which are substantially contiguous and to the data packets another set of blocks of memory elements located in a second range of the memory (ms2 ). This makes it possible to avoid the fragmentation of the memory zone, during successive installations / uninstalls and to carry out very easily a process of defragmentation optimal, adapted to each type of data, or application data.
