PURPOSE: To provide a coating applicator which can efficiently apply a vibration damping material and restraining material having viscosity to a car body so as to have sufficient vibration damping performance. CONSTITUTION: A wrist (14) of a coating application robot with a plurality of coating application nozzles (15a, 15b) operates in prescribed operation patterns and when the vibration damping material and restraining material of different characteristics are simultaneously jetted from a plurality of the coating application nozzles. The vibration damping material on the front side when viewed in an operating direction (white arrow in Fig.) is applied as a lower layer material to the car panel (11), the restraining material is applied wet on wet as an upper layer material on the lower layer material.
