PURPOSE: Provided are catalyst composition for methylchlorosilane synthesis and a method for producing methylchlorosilane using the catalyst, wherein the method is capable of fabricating chlorosilane with low boiling point while maintaining high yields and T/D ratio at economical level. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is consisted of copper or copper halide, zinc/copper alloy, phosphorous/copper alloy, tin/copper alloy, and tungsten or tungsten compound, wherein contents of respective ingredients (copper, zinc/copper alloy, phosphorous/copper alloy, tin/copper alloy, tungsten) per silicon 100g are 2-12g, 0.2-1g, 0.05-0.5g, 0.05-0.3g, 0.1-0.5g, respectively, and wherein a copper : zinc ratio is 40:60-80:20 in the zinc/copper alloy, a copper : phosphorous ratio is 70:30-90:10 in the phosphorous/copper alloy, and a copper : tin ratio is 70:30-90:10 in the tin/copper alloy.
