PURPOSE: A flap weir water gate and a construction method thereof are provided to allow for ease of opening/shutting operation of the water gate, while lengthening the useful life of the water gate by preventing abrasion of the cylinder in the water gate. CONSTITUTION: A flap weir water gate comprises a fixed shaft(7) fixed to a wall(100) or a support; a water gate(1) which is hollow, and has a cylinder installation space and a fixed shaft bracket(8) mounted to an inner end of the water gate so as to be hinge-coupled with the fixed shaft; a connector(5) having an end coupled to the fixed shaft and the other end with a movable hinge(6); a cylinder rod(4) and a cylinder(3) coupled to the connector through the movable hinge and coupled to a cylinder bracket(2); a cylinder case for protecting the cylinder from sand or gravel; a water gate support(9) for preventing sands or gravel from flowing toward the bottom of the water gate.
