Method for decreasing the amount of the surface defect by the roll mark in the hot roll process

PURPOSE: A method is provided to effectively reduce surface defects of a strip caused by a roll mark in hot rolling process by controlling a rolling process in real time when the surface defects occur in the surface of the strip. CONSTITUTION: A steel strip is supplied from a continuous casting machine(1). Then, the steel strip is heated in a heating furnace controlled by a first computer(2). Heated steel strip is subject to a rolling process in a rolling machine controlled by a second computer(3,4). Then, the steel strip is inspected by using a surface defect probe(6). Surface inspection data obtained by the surface defect probe are transmitted to a server computer. Upon receiving the data, the server computer sends a control signal to the first and second computers in order to control operation of the heating furnace and the rolling machine according to the data.
