PURPOSE: Provided is a mailbox which lets the mailbox just opened by a registered manager through users' authentication by fingerprint so that it prevents the mail matters from being stolen by other people. CONSTITUTION: The mailbox comprises the parts of: a fingerprint treatment part(11) which scans managers' fingerprint and lets the characteristics of the fingerprint coded; a communication part(12) which transmits managers' fingerprint data to an outside equipment and receives authentication resu a control part(13) which lets a door part(14) controlled by the authentication result, with controlling the entire system; a bar code reader part(15) which interprets bar codes printed on the mail matters; a detection part(16) for the mail matters which lets the mail matters detected; and a display part(17) which informs the manager of the presence of the mail matters.
