Semiconductor laser diode for reducing optical loss and for improving thermal characteristics

PURPOSE: A semiconductor laser diode with improved optical loss and thermal characteristics is provided to achieve efficient heat dissipation and reduce optical loss, using asymmetrical waveguide and clad structure. CONSTITUTION: The laser diode includes an active layer emitting a laser beam, and a n-waveguide layer and a n-clad layer are arranged in sequence in one side centering on the active layer, and a p-waveguide layer and a p-clad layer are arranged in sequence in another side. The composition of the p-waveguide layer and the p-clad layer is different from the composition of the n-waveguide layer and the n-clad layer.
