PURPOSE: A method for generating a squeezed light using a stimulated Brillouin scattering and an apparatus thereof are provided to supply functionality of the squeezed light in several fields like a light source in an optical communication field. CONSTITUTION: According to the apparatus generating a squeezed light, an active mode locked laser(1) pumps a light, and a RF synthesizer(2) controls a mode interval of the active mode locked laser. An optical isolator(3) isolates an output light not to return reversely. An optical circulator(5) amplifies a laser output of low intensity to a high intensity output. A dispersion shifted fiber(6) generates a stimulated Brillouin scattering and Kerr effect. A Faraday mirror(7) reflects an incident light as changing its polarization. And an optical fiber(9) outputs the reflected light.
