PURPOSE: A waste water treating agent and a waste water treatment method using the same is to efficiently remove impurities such as fluorine and hexavalent chromium contained in the waste water produced in the field of steel, leather and semiconductor plants. CONSTITUTION: A waste water treating agent comprises 20-40% (w/v) of lanthanum nitride (La(NO3)3), 0.5-3.0% (w/v) of barium chloride (BaCl2) and 1.0-3.0% (w/v) of trivalent ferrous compound in water (H2O) as a solvent, and further 1.5-2.5% (w/v) of hydroxylamine hydrochloride, the waste water treating agent being used for removing fluorine and hexavalent chromium. The treatment process comprises the steps of:Collecting wastewater(1), a reaction tank(17), a waste water treating agent tank linked with the reaction tank(15), a neutralizing tank(18), a polyacrylamide tank(14) and a sodium hydroxide tank(16) linked with the neutralizing tank respectively, a sedimentation tank(5), a sand filter(6), a screening step(8).
