HEATED, LIGHT-EXTINCTION TYPE DIESEL SMOKE METER

PURPOSE: A heated light-extinction type diesel smoke meter is provided to prevent condensate from generating in a sampling line and prevent mist from generating when the smoke meter is operated in cold air below zero. CONSTITUTION: A heated light-extinction type diesel smoke meter includes a sampling probe(14) inserted into an end(13) of an exhaust pipe to measure the density of smoke in exhaust gas exhausted from a diesel engine; a heated sampling line(15) combined with an outlet of the sampling probe and having a heater(16) and a temperature sensor(17); a measuring chamber(18) heated by a heater(19) at regular temperature; an optical unit composed of a light transmitter(20) and a light receiver(21) to measure the density of smoke in an optical method; a protection air unit(22) installing a heater and a temperature sensor(23); a micro controller(24) heating the measuring chamber and the protection air unit at regular temperature, controlling the protection air unit supplying protection air, controlling a light source and an optical sensor, and converting the density of smoke by using a measured electric signal; and a display unit(25) presenting the measured density of smoke to a tester.
