PURPOSE: A filter using carbon fiber composition carbon for simplicity water works management shows excellent performance when applied to advanced wastewater treatment to remove soluble BOD, SS, and colors with improved chemical resistance and mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION: The process for manufacturing a filter using carbon fiber composition carbon includes the steps of mixing carbon fiber with diatomite in a weight ratio of 70:30 to 60:40 and then calcining in the temperature range of 950 to 1300C for 5 hours, followed by cutting the calcined mixture into a fixed size; crushing an activated carbon with an iodine adsorption capability higher than 1000mg/L to 4-8 mesh size; mixing unsaturated polyester resin with hardening agent in a weight ratio of 100 : 0.5 when temperature is higher than 25C or in a weight ratio of 100 : 1 when temperature is less than 25C so as to prepare a binder; blending fly ash, activated carbon, binder, and glass fiber in a weight ratio of 5 : 40 : 15 : 40 to 5 : 35 : 15 : 45, and then mixing the blend at a speed of 100rpm; packing the blend in a hexahedral mould; curing the blend for 1-2 hours when temperature is 25-35C, for 2-3 hours when temperature is 15-25C, for 3-4 hours when temperature is 5-15C or for 5 hours when temperature is less than 5C. In the method the unsaturated polyester resin is selected from acryl resin, ethylene vinyl acetate resin, furan resin, phenol resin, urea, melamine resin, polyamide resin.
