The invention relates to a security device for a gas supply device, especially compressed air supply device, especially for breathing or diving apparatuses for communicating a residual pressure of the gas supplies to a user of the compressed gas supply device by increasing the breathing resistance. The inventive device comprises a stop valve (10) which is connected between a medium pressure connection of a pressure reducing device (101) and a scuba regulator. The opening of said valve is reduced to a certain residual pressure for increasing breathing resistance when the gas supply pressure falls. The inventive device also comprises a device (12) for stopping the opening of the stop valve (10) from being reduced. Said valve is provided with a valve element in the form of a deformable and reformable valve element, especially a hose (19) in the gas passage way of the medium pressure. The outside of the valve element (19) is connected to the high-pressure connection of the pressure reducing device (101) by means of a pressure control valve (11) in such a way that, when the residual pressure is obtained, said pressure acts upon the outside of the valve element (19) and presses the deformable and non-deformable valve element (19) in such a way that the gas passage can be narrowed, preferably until closing.
