Arrangement (2, 3) for sensing side impacts connects to a controller (1). Each sensing arrangement has a temperature sensor and an acceleration sensor for side impact sensing with the sensors forming a single constructive unit within a hollow body of the side part of a vehicle. Each sensor is used for plausibility checks.
