The method involves determining digital values described by the sinusoidal signal in that each two pairs of digital values are multiplied together and the results added. One pair of multiplied signals consists of the sine of the phase of the initial frequency at a conversion time and the cosine of the phase of a defined integral multiple of the raster frequency at the conversion time.
